# Copy an Inspiration

Don't want to start from a blank page? An Inspiration is a finished style guide, frozen as an example. Browse them on the public [Inspiration](/inspiration) page, or inside the app under Style Guides → Inspiration.

Copy is how you turn one into a style guide in your own account. You're not editing the original — you're starting from a structure that's already been dressed.

## How to Copy

Signed in, open an Inspiration and tap Copy. In a few seconds you'll have a new, unpublished style guide: the People, the Palette, and the Catalog pieces, ready to rename and tweak.

If you're signed out, Copy on the public page asks you to sign up first. After the trial starts, we take you into the copy so you don't lose the thread.

## What comes with it

- **People** — labels, ages, and genders, so the picker is already filtered.
- **The Palette** — attached to the new guide, and auto-favorited for you.
- **Catalog items** — the shoppable pieces, sitting on the right people.

Closet pieces never copy. Inspirations don't have them (closet photos can show a real family). Copying one of your own style guides from inside the account is a separate flow — Closet *references* stay on that copy; the photos aren't cloned.

## After you Copy

The new guide is yours. Rename it, swap a Person, change a dress, pick a different Palette (that last one takes the copied items off — [How Palettes work](/help/palettes)). Then [publish and email the family](/help/build-and-send-a-style-guide) like any other guide.

Free accounts can Copy as long as you're under the one-style-guide limit. If Copy would put you over, we'll ask you to upgrade. People on the Inspiration can be more than three — that's grandfathered. Future adds on that guide stay gated.

## What Copy is not

It isn't a live link back to the original. Edits you make don't change the Inspiration, and edits to the Inspiration later don't flow into your guide. It's a starting point, then it's yours.
